EVENT INFORMATIONThursday 1st March 2018
St. Mary's College, Oscott Open to Schools A diocesan wide schools event, where we will launch and establish the context for the project.
This event is for young men and women from Years 11,12 and 13. It is planned that the event will be representative of the culturally diverse society that we belong to and that a range of views and standpoints can be gathered from young people. The event, in particular will give young people the opportunity to engage with the Church, to speak and to share their voice. The day will include a series of facilitated sessions and focussed activities of dialogue and engagement, aided by local and international inspiring and experienced contributors, using a series of interactive and engaging methods, including peer to peer discussion and discernment, workshops, presentations and use of new media technologies. EVENT INFORMATION12th - 23rd March 2018
Various school venues Open to Schools An extensive outreach programme of facilitated think tanks delivered locally within Catholic schools and state schools.
The think tanks will have a three-fold approach. Firstly to enable young people to develop further their thoughts and engagement with the topics initially raised at the launch event, and following a period of discernment and reflection give the opportunity to project their thoughts more sharply. Secondly engage a new audience of those young adults from school communities who were not able to attend the launch event. In addition, the think tanks will also aim to engage with those young people who would not normally attend a diocesan event, in particular those young people who are of other faiths, of no faith, or those who are particularly marginalised or excluded from within the context of society.
